Helen Redd 94, of Huntington was born in Burke, TX on August 23, 1930 to Aplin and Lilly Nash Townsend and passed away March 13, 2025.

She was enrolled in the first nursing class at Angelina College in 1968, due to family circumstances she never graduated, but was always there for every family member.

Helen loved gardening, canning and made the best Chicken and Dumplings.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 71 years William H Redd Sr. (2017) and grandson Heath Hopson (2001).

She is survived by her children William H Redd Jr., Betsy Smith, Alan Redd, Karen Mullins.  Grandchildren Casey Smith, Heather Hopson, Shannon Cummins, Christopher Redd and 6 great grandchildren.

The Family would like to express gratitude to Southland Nursing Home and to Hospice in the Pines for their special care of their mother.
