Private family funeral service for Mona Dell Powers of Lufkin will be held at a later date. Ms Powers was born April 5, 1938 in Angelina County to the late Martha (Harvey) and R.L. Parrott and died March 12, 2024 in a local hospital after attaining the age of 85 years, 11 months and 7 day.

      Ms Powers was a Lifetime member of the VFW – Post 1836 and DAV.

      She is survived by her children, Linda & Ricky Justus, Dennis & Abby Crager, and Vickie Mettlen; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Jo Thomas; lots of nieces and nephews; other loved ones and friends.

In addition to her parents, Ms Powers was preceded in death by her daughter, Alisa Ann Stuart; husband, Delbert Powers; and 4 brothers.

      In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the memory of Mona Powers to your local DAV.

      Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Snead Linton Funeral Home.
