Memorial service for Cary James Hight, 52, of Lufkin was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2013 in the Denman Avenue Baptist Church with Brother Charles M. Roberts and Pastor Jeff Moats officiating. Cary was born in Baytown August 28, 1961 and went to be with Our Lord November 9, 2013 in a local health care facility after attaining the age of 52 years, 2 months, and 12 days.

      Cary was a graduate of Lufkin High School and received an associate of applied sciences degree from Angelina College. He worked in the maintenance department at Lufkin Memorial Hospital, then as a Maintenance Electrician for Texas Foundries before becoming the Owner/Operator of CompuWorks in Lufkin. Other than spending time with his grandchildren, Cary loved the outdoors and was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He served as a counselor for Cross Trail Outfitters Ministries and enjoyed sharing his passion for God’s creation and introducing young people to the wonder of the outdoors.

      Cary is survived by his wife of 16 years, Marie Curbow Hight of Lufkin; stepdaughter and husband, Sara Holcombe and Bryan Johnson of Lufkin; grandchildren, Sophia and Matthew Johnson; parents, Larry and Robyn Hight; mother-in-law, Barbara Curbow, all of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Curtis and Carla Hight of Lufkin and Kevin and Tonya Hight of Richardson; sister-in-law and husband, Deborah and Robert Jacks, Jr.; brother-in-law and wife; David and Wanda Curbow; sister-in-law, Karen Curbow, all of Lufkin; five nieces; three nephews; a host of friends and other relatives.

      The family wishes to thank Denman Avenue Baptist Church and Heart To Heart Hospice for their unwavering support and kindness.

      The family received friends and loved ones from 9:00 a.m. till service time Saturday in the Church Atrium.

      In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Denman Avenue Scholarship Fund in care of Denman Avenue Baptist Church, 1807 Denman Avenue, Lufkin, TX 75901.

      Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Snead Linton Funeral Home.
