Funeral services for Beulah Vee Gandy, 81, of Huntington, were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2011 in the Highway Baptist Church in Huntington with Brother Lamar Denby and Brother Brad Forrest officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. She was born April 6, 1930 in Sinclair County, AL to the late Zinia Lee (Jones) and Doc Morgan and died August 23, 2011 in a Lufkin hospital.
Mrs. Gandy was a member of the Salem Baptist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, North Shore Chapter #1058. She loved to sew, crochet, paint and making ceramics.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Jimmy Gandy of Huntington; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Robert Brown of Houston; Jenny and Dan Jones of Jacksonville, FL; Judy and Larry Spence of Bonaire, GA; and Melisa and Steve Phillips of Huntington; sons, Richard Gandy and Jimmy Wayne Gandy, both of Huntington; grandchildren, Pam and Hank Gosnell; Joe and Kim Ogden; and Cindy Williams all of Houston; sister, Mae Bracknell of Alabama; and a number of nieces and nephews, and other relatives, and a host of friends.
Mrs. Gandy was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, T.G. Morgan and Author Lee Morgan.
Pallbearers were Billy Charles Gandy, Donald Wayne Gandy, Jerry Matchett, Buddy Gandy, Kenneth Ricks, Steve Phillips, Robert Brown, and Dennis Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Dunman and Joe Ogden.
Visitation was Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Highway Baptist Church in Huntington.
