Delbert Glenn Ellison

     Graveside service for Delbert Glenn Ellison of Diboll, will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday December 22, 2024 in the Ryan Chapel cemetery with Bro. Paul Cockrell officiating.  He passed away December 20, 2024 in a Diboll Nursing Facility at the age of 79. Delbert was born on June 7, 1945 to the late John and Frankie Ellison in Diboll and was a life long resident where he also raised his family.  He was a committed Christian who loved his church. Delbert was a charter member of Jubilee Baptist Church where he served as Deacon (he was ordained in the 70’s at Burke Baptist Church), Sunday School Teacher and Music Leader until his health no longer allowed him to serve.

    Delbert worked at Lufkin Industries for 37 years and was a dedicated employee who took pride in his work.  Once retired, he enjoyed Blue Grass Festivals, gardening, and Flea Markets (both buying and selling).

    He was a dedicated husband, dad, and pawpaw.  Delbert enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren and they loved him.  He will be missed.

    Delbert is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Tammy Ellison; grandchildren, Faith Miller and husband, Anthony, Micah Ellison and wife, Miranda, and Jacob Ellison; great grandchildren, Carter and Cole Ellison, and Blake, Addie and Aaryn Miller; sisters, Sue Crain, Lola Stringer and husband, Michael.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Jo Hugg; brother, Douglas Ellison; and brothers-in-law, Calvin Hugg and James Crain.
