Graveside service for Robert Abshier, 64, of Woden was held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in the Simpson Campground Cemetery in Woden with Philip Hodson officiating.  Mr. Abshier was born July 16, 1948 in Liberty to the late Lorene (Means) and Rufus Abshier and died March 11, 2013 in a local hospital after attaining the age of 64 years, 7 months, and 25 days.

          Mr. Abshier worked for Petrochemical Companies off shore, enjoyed family and grandchildren, and was a member of the Woden Baptist Church. He worked on vehicles and loved deer hunting and fishing.

          Mr. Abshier is survived by his wife, Debbie Abshier of Woden; daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Philip Hoden of Pennsylvania; son, Dewayne Weeks of Nacogdoches; daughter, Jenna Lollar of San Antonio; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Emma Abshier of Nacogdoches.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Sam Abshier; and a grandson.

          Visitation was from 3 – 4 p.m. Wednesday at the cemetery.
