A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mary McMillan, 96, of Lufkin was held August 7, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Bald Hill church of Christ, 9187 FM 326, Lufkin, TX 75901 with Philip Snead officiating. A private inurnment will follow at a later date. Mary was born July 9, 1930 in Clinton, OK, to the late L.D. and Kate King and was affectionately known as “Mamaw” by everyone who knew her. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother and enjoyed playing the organ, working in her yard, and crocheting.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Marie Bintliff (Mike); her sons: Dennis Kroeker (Aldonna), and Larry Kroeker; grandchildren: Kenny Tole (Stacia), Wyatt Tole, Shelly Barnes (Travis), Joshua Kroeker (Jennifer), Jake Kroeker (Nichole), and Shauna Reiley (Lynda); great-grandchildren, Jacob Selman (Christie), Kaleb Selman (Amy), Baleigh Martinez (Drew), Maddie Tole, Will Tole, Isabella Tole, Abbey Kroeker, Jack Kroeker, Wesley Kroeker, Daniel Kroeker, Kaelyn Reiley (Tracer), Matthew Reiley, and Isaac Kroeker; great-great-grandchildren: Brycelyn Selman, Kooper Selman, Bentley Reiley, Cohen Reiley-Yates, and Sophia Aguilera; nephews, nieces, cousins: Chass Akard (Marci), Christian Akard, Sean Akard, Lauren Akard (Isaiah Gonzalez) Steve Garst, Rick King (Susan), and Renee Rogers (Randy); special friends, James Echols and Shirley Weathers; and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob McMillan; sisters Alma King and Ruth Ann Wright; brother, Irvin King; and daughter-in-law, Micki Kroeker.
